Hard Drive Prices Set To tripple :(

Postby [RS]BrainDamaged » Tue Oct 25, 2011 1:32 pm

Yup you heard right, thanks to the floods in Thailand and surrounding areas, 4 major factorys and supply chains have been broken and production has been stopped :( not looking good if you are looking for a Hard drive in the near future.

News Article here

And to top it all off NAND that is used in SSD drives is in short supply as Toshiba had to close its main plant back during the Japanese Earthquake/Tsunami :(

Article here

The Articles are not Breaking news but another forum I use (and has its own shop) has a very large 200+ posts thread about the cost going up as the shop cannot get hold of many drives and the fact that a 2Tb drive that was £50-60 is now £100-120 :wtf: not a good day if your looking to purchase a new hard drive/SSD.

As of the 21st Newegg in the states are limiting Hdd purchases to one per customer!
Yep Thats right Brain Damaged! If you see me on the battlefield you would understand!
